Enhancing Animal Performance and Wellness with Chiropractic Care
At APEX Performance Chiropractic we understand that at times we ask our animals to do remarkable things for us. It only seems fitting to provide the best quality of life for them and make sure they have access to the tools that help them be the top performers we want them to be.
Animal chiropractic is a field of animal health care that focuses on the preservation and health of the neuro-musculoskeletal system of the animal. The spine and extremities are a complex system that is made up of bones, ligaments, muscles and nerves. If these bones become dysfunctional it will place undue stress and strain on the supporting structures of the spine, extremities and the nervous system. The nervous system and the brain control everything in the animal’s body, so any interference is going to affect that animal’s ability to perform, function and handle stressors. This interference can be manifested in several ways such as gait compensations, stiffness, muscle pain and tension, and organ dysfunction.
The goal of treating your animals with chiropractic care is to help restore function, mobility and stability to the spine and extremities in areas of dysfunction. These dysfunctional areas are called subluxations. We as chiropractors use our hands to perform adjustments to these subluxations and restore normal ROM (range of motion). This helps reduce the stress on the spine, extremities, nerves and supporting structures which will allow them to heal and improve the brain’s ability to communicate with the body. This improved brain-body communication will help your animal perform better, reduce the risk of potential injury, and improve quality of life.
